Case Study: Online Marketing (Just In Thyme Foods)

Most of the time, business owners we meet would rather concentrate on what they do best − that specific skill or passion which prompted them to launch their business in the first place. They either don’t have the time or the inclination to handle all of those technical and/or marketing efforts that are necessary to keep a business thriving.

We understand that most entrepreneurs don’t want to be bothered with the minutiae when it comes to critical things like rebranding, building and maintaining a website, establishing an online marketing strategy, organizing marketing assets in a way that they’re easily found and repurposed or creating a geo-targeted social media campaign to generate interest and increase sales. This perspective was definitely the case with Just In Thyme Foods.

And that’s where Hammond Media Group comes in.

As busy caterers in the Memphis market, Just In Thyme Foods had little to no time leftover at the end of each week to concentrate on these aforementioned important, sales-building tasks. This dilemma was a double-edged sword. By focusing solely on their delicious food, impressive presentations and exceptional customer service, they consistently grew their business over the past decade via word-of-mouth referrals. However, the untapped, online customer remained at bay since their internet marketing efforts were limited solely to the occasional Facebook update.

In 2013, Just In Thyme realized that change was necessary for continued growth and success, especially given the ongoing economically-challenging environment. Just In Thyme Foods saw their weekly sales figures increase three-fold with the combined launch of their website and new email Thyme Maker Meal campaign.

Connie Hammond was retained on an annual basis to serve as the hypothetical ‘Chief Marketing Officer,’ acting as an extension of their team. The Strategic Marketing plan addresses the following 360° online marketing needs:

Although we love both logos presented below (after all, we designed the first logo back in 1999), we agreed that it was time to update the look by making  it more modern and sophisticated to reflect their current services now that they’ve grown into the premier caterer in Memphis.
